RED RUM - Racehorse

What a Horse!!
Born in 1965 Died 1995
Known affectionately as "Rummy". He won the Grand National 3 times in 1973, 1974 and 1977. On each of two other occasions, 1975 and 1976 he came second.
He was taken for a therapeutic swim in the sea off Southport before every Grand National, as most of his life Red Rum suffered from an incurable and debilitating bone disease in his foot.
He is now buried on the winning line of the Grand National racecourse at Aintree in England.
There is a life size statue of Red Rum at Aintree Racecourse.
