What a Horse!!
Born in 1965 Died 1995
Known affectionately as "Rummy". He won the Grand National 3 times in 1973, 1974 and 1977. On each of two other occasions, 1975 and 1976 he came second.
He was taken for a therapeutic swim in the sea off Southport before every Grand National, as most of his life Red Rum suffered from an incurable and debilitating bone disease in his foot.
